Toward the End of Week 8: Recovery Week

My wife will be posting my pictures. I'm still at it. I've measured myself and am satisfied with the progress, but I have not check out the pictures. Hopefully, it will give me a pleasant surprise.

I have been doing mostly Insanity with the Yoga X in the Recovery. Brutal but effective.

Check out tomorrow when I post the pictures.

Week 5 Day 29 Chest, shoulder and triceps

Didn't complete my workout last week, so I repeated all the workout from last week. Today, I did chest, shoulder, and tri. I was amazed on the improvement I've seen in my workout. Abripper X is still very challenging. Still could not complete the whole workout, but I have seen my numbers and my forms improve tremendously. I was amazed also that I could do one arm pushup on my knee, but regardless, I'm doing it. I am so stoked that I can't wait for tomorrow. I no longer tread on even the most challenging workout. I can start to fit into my other clothes that has been collecting dust in my closet. If week 5 is this good, imagine week 12, 90 days!! AARGH!!!! Bring it!!!

Day 26 Week 4 Core Synergistic

Got back from work late last night. Just doesn't have the energy to do a one hour workout. Especially not Core Synergistic. So I took the night off and reschedule my workout today.
It was a good decision seeing that I lack the energy needed for a full workout. I still couldn't do full motion on certain workout, however, what I did on the first cynergistic vs. tonight was a 50% improvement. Can't wait to do yoga X to see if my strength and flexiblity keeps improving.
I feel healthier with a ton of energy!
Tomorrow will be the end of fourth week and I will post my picture in here and the teambeachbody webstie: http://teambeachbody.com/rippleeffect

Day 22 Week 4

Started out on week 4 a little rough. My ankle is acting up on me for no reason. Cynergistic was very difficult on a bad ankle but I modify to make it work for me tonight! At the end of the week, I will be posting my pictures of day one versus day 30. Not comfortable in posting my pictures, but I'll do it as a motivation for myself and others who needed inspiration.

Week 3 Day 17

I have always been a weightlifter minus the ab workout. So, I have no problem with the shoulder and arms workout. Ab ripper X is another story. Each time, I get anxious beforehand, but I am so elated at the small improvement and strength I've seen over the few weeks since starting back on the P90X. My doubt are becoming less and my hope is becoming stronger. Opportunity is on my doorstep! Yahoo!

Plyometric Week 3 day 16

I came home late from work. I was beginning to have second thought, when the inspiring phrase came to me like an epiphany, "Just Push Play!" So, I did just that! As soon as I started the workout, I was in the zone. I went through every move sweating and breathing so hard I thought my heart was going to burst out of my lung! I was afraid I might slip from the sweat pouring out of my pores and down to the floor. By the time I had finished the workout, I had burned 1050 calories! Wow! I felt great! I felt like I have captured a flag on the mountain! So Glad I push play!

How about you, what's your workout?

Legs, back, and Ab Ripper X

I've lost 15 lbs since I started back on the P90X. My aim is to lose at least 40 lbs by January.

Sunday workout

I am debating whether I should do Kenpo or one of Insanity workout in place. Kenpo is fun but I don't think it pushes me to the level I need. I need to feel like someone just kicked my ass.

If you have an advice, please drop me a suggestion(s). Oh, I lost 5 lbs.

Kenneth
Legs, back and Abripper X. I am not trying to exaggerate, but the P90X workout literally melts fat on the first week of workout! I have friends who are challenging me to prove them there is a change in 30 days! Pressure is on!!! How about you? What's your goal?

Gym Rat!

I love the P90X and would recommend it to anyone, but my motive is to get people to share the same experience. Sorry to say, but I am more focus on the fitness part than trying to sell a product. If I don't get to sell anything and you come to the gym and hit it very hard for and hour or two, than that in itself is more rewarding than any profit or revenue. In fact, I have been observing some in here and they do put a black eye to real workout, real fitness, and just the joy of going to the gym and sweating it out. Though, I have been away for sometimes from the gym scene until I picked up P90X, I have always enjoyed weightlifting, martial arts, and just the comraderie of being a gym rat. I used to run for 6 miles from my house in New Dorp, Staten Island to the Verrazano bridge and bag before I injured myself during a mma sparring at the martial arts class. This ankle injury has become a thorn on my side since, but I am determine not to keep me down.

Coming Back more intense than ever

After my injury to my ankle, it was so difficult to motivate myself into my workout. It didn't take long to start adding unwanted fat on my already big frame. I felt the fat on me. I was tired and unmotivated to do anything. Even my online class was affected by my lack of motivation. After couple of months, I saw what I didn't want to see in the mirror. So, I had to pull myself out of the rut and take my bud to the gym! After the first day, I knew that I had missed working out and keeping myself healthy. Though, I have not posted anything in here for over six months, I had been working out for three weeks now and I am slowly seeing small changes to my physique and my mental focus. I promised to keep at it no matter what and I ask you also to keep faith and pick up where we left off. Let the journey begin!!!

Week 2 of P90X/Insanity Hybrid

I have no problem packing on bulk. I used to be powerlifter in my younger days, so I have great muscle memory especially around my legs, chest, and arms. I have also been eating and drinking everything that is bad for me, so when I started my P90X journey, my fats were stubborn and has no problem creeping back. I had to be very particular about my diet.
One big complain I heard from those that have done the Insanity was losing muscle mass. Well, doing both of these workout is a bit of a problem with me on the days I lift weight or is it just me imagining things. I wanted to lose some of my bulkiness especially on my arm, but on the days I work weights, no matter how light I go, I seem to bulk out. So now, I have decided to put down the hybrid and do a two months of Insanity and try to lose as much fat as I can from this Insane cardio program before I pick the Hybrid again.
Check back again on my progress!

Plan Your Meals Around Fruits and Veggies

An easy way to tick off those 5 to 6 servings of fruits and veggies per day is to start planning your meals around them instead of a protein source. While there is no denying that we need protein, studies show that most Americans fall drastically short in the fruit and veggie department. And while lack of veggies is not the sole culprit, making the right food choices will reduce your risk of cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, most degenerative diseases, as well as control obesity and digestive problems. Plus, while there are only a handful of protein choices, there's an almost endless array of different and unique fruits and veggies to choose from, which can lead to fun new adventures in eating. Pass the chayote!

Kon' Kang (you wanna eat) Kang Kong? by sister Glenda Welles, Beachbody coach

Kang kong (Ipomoea aquatica or reptans)

Kang kong (Ipomoea aquatica or reptans) has two main varieties, one with larger leaves and stems and one with narrower leaves and stems…the latter sometimes referred to in local markets as “Chinese Kang kong.” Also known as “water spinach” – why, one wonders as it is not related to “spinach” but rather more closely related to sweet potatoes… A native to tropical India, it has spread to Southeast Asia where it thrives and has become a cheap and nutritious part of the diet.
I ate kang kong frequently in at my Nohno Batsipa’s house (where it is an essential ingredient in her FAMOUS soups) My Nohno Batsipa was an advocate of GREEN veggies and I was made to eat them.
In my house I use I sauté it with a bit of extra virgin olive oil or pure coconut oil. To make this simple side dish, I prep the leaves, heat up a large pan, add olive oil and minced garlic, the kang kong, and salt and pepper to taste. When I take it off the burner, I also drizzle a small amount of sesame seed oil. Delicioso!
I also enjoy eating kang kong at a local Chinese restaurant here.

Planning for the Week

I've thought about it and I have decided to take my workout to the next level! I plan to do a thirty minute high intensity workout in the morning. Either Cardio X or P90 Express. I am doing pretty good with my workout but I would like to see more fat burning this week. P90X has allowed me to put on a lot of muscles, now I need to increase the cardio to start seeing more of my fat melt away to get a more ripped on my muscles.
I will have to play a balancing act on my carbohydrate intake so I can maintain enough energy for the intense P90X workout in the evening.
I have limited space, but you are more than welcome to join me. I am also available for fitness advice.

UPPER MIDDLE LOWER WORKOUT

I wanted to make sure I show you a little bit of what I do for my workout. It is not glamorous by no means. As you can see this is as Horton puts it, real DNA removal.

This is actually the Upper Middle Lower (UML) workout. It is just as brutal as some of the P90X workout. I was short on time tonight but I wanted to make sure that I put in some type of workout for today's schedule. As you can see, there's no excuse! Your life worth more than the things that keep getting in your way. You owe it to yourself and you owe it to your mom, dad, siblings, friends, wife, and most importantly, your kids. They need you around! Look at it this way, it won't matter if you meet your schedules if your dead! So, do yourself a favor and BRING IT!

P90X Shoulder and arms, ab ripper X

Raise your hands if you are for P90X!

The workout never gets easy, but I brought it! While I have a long way to go, these pictures gave me motivation to move on forward. Coming from where I started, I would say that I am making progress. I had stopped for awhile during the holidays and probably set me back about two months worth of workout, I am still satisfied that I am finally on my way toward my goal.
As I pointed out in my transformation story, I started at 265 lbs and now I am down to 225. I intend to reach my goal of 178 lbs or a six pack. Whichever comes first. Thank you for taking an interest to my story. I hope I have been an inspiration to you. Please check back again for more update and don't hesitate to sign up and be a follower to my blog. Till then! :-)

My Transformation Story

My wife and I got on this program couple of years back, however we were not consistent even though we saw great progress. I'm back now determine to make it work.
Okay, let me shed a little of myself, or shall I say a lot of myself. Get it?
I was very fit and athletic when I was in high school and my early years in the Coast Guard. I had start putting on weight and my excuse was that I was gaining muscle. I used to workout and drink all night and then back to the gym again. Over the years my weight slowly crept up from a fit 139 lbs boxer in high school to a fat 265 lbs 40 year old man.
I was in denial till people stop calling me husky to just fat. I was a tough guy, or I'd like to think I am, but inside it was hurtful to hear people make fun of my size. I'd laugh along.
After seeing my brother in law Rickson and his wife Susan making great progress on the program, my wife and I made the final decision to once and for all get on the program and lose the unhealthy fat that I have been carrying all these years. I am excited to see result. This is actually my second week into the workout and I've seen great result. I can't wait to see more progress. I know that it might be far fetch, but I would like to lose 70 to 80 lbs in 90 days.
It has been over 90 days, and while I have yet to reach my goal, I have made significant progress. I am happy to show my pictures as a result. Please keep checking back for update.
Great progress! Yipee! I just checked my weight and I am happy to announced that I am down to 225 lbs. I am on my second rounds for P90X and I look forward to dropping below 200. Please check back for update.
